This contemporary wristwatch expresses the stylish panache of a luxurious calendar watch in The Met collection. The original watch was made by Thomas Alcock, who was recorded as working in London in the 1630s. The watch's dial with its evocative "man in the moon" on a starry background indicated the time of tides, mean solar time, phase of the moon, and day of the month.
Our stellar interpretation derives its design from elements of the original 17th-century calendar watch. It features a printed band and a quartz movement.
